After years of neglect brambles and nettles have encroached onto the meadows and footpaths, and the more sensitive wildlife areas have become threatened with invasive plants. Rotherlands Conservation Group is working to transform the present wilderness into a wildlife haven and pleasant riverside walk. The group was started by Mrs Pat Redhill and Councillor John Crowhurst, who organised an inaugural nature walk along the River Rother on 13 September 2000. Rotherlands now has Local Nature Reserve status. |
